I started Akar Café because I could never find a café that truly felt like home. I've been to a lot of beautiful coffee shops over the years, and each one has something unique to offer, like delicious coffee, attractive furnishings, or welcoming personnel. However, I've always dreamed of a location where everything works together—a warm, friendly, and comfortable area that feels perfect, particularly for our neighbourhood in Wallington, New Jersey.

That sensation remained with me. After working in the restaurant and hospitality industries for more than 15 years, my partner and I made the decision to build the kind of place we had always dreamed of, a café focused on our local community in New Jersey and produced with love and care. That’s how Akar Café was born.
